Nymphoides peltata
For thousands of years, aquatic plants have been used by many different cultures for a variety of
purposes such as medicine, food, decoration, cosmetics and ornaments, as well as providing numerous
painters, sculptors and other artists with a source of inspiration by virtue of their immense
beauty. At La Concepcion, a large number of aquatic plants can be seen in the various different
ponds and pools. Papyruses, irises, several varieties of water lily, aquatic hibiscuses and
dazzling lotuses, to name but a few, are all visible during spring and summer.
