La Concepcion's first Training Workshop was held in 1994. The Workshops are a two-year programme
combining employment and training whose ultimate goal is to provide unemployed under 25s with
skills that will subsequently enable them to find employment by involving them in projects and
services that are of public utility and social interest. The six programmes lasting a total of
twelve years that have taken place to date have trained, and indeed continue to train, over 325
young people in Malaga aged between 16 and 25 years in the gardening, building, carpentry, plant
nursery and irrigation equipment trades, thus helping to provide new professionals for these
sectors and making a lasting contribution to the conservation and maintenance of a historical,
artistic and botanical location of inestimable value.
