Children in the Exedra
Since 1992, the gardens of La Concepcion have played host to a variety of educational projects
focussing on Nature Conservation, Botany and the Environment. In order to raise visitors’ awareness
of the aforementioned topics, we offer exhibitions, courses, specialised tours, workshops and, most
importantly of all, a multitude of programmes aimed at schoolchildren and their teachers.

Our 15 years of experience in this field includes the organisation of reforestations, educational tours, awareness projects, fairs, workshops, exhibitions, conferences and training programmes.
The botanical garden takes full advantage of all of the resources at its disposal to stage the
following educational projects: Botany and the Environment, Ethnobotany, La Concepcion in the
social context of the XIX century, La Concepcion and the arts (music, literature, painting,
photography and nature), the landscape, botanical tours, etc. These have in turn led to the
appearance of a number of publications in the shape of teachers’ books, workbooks containing
practical exercises for pupils and CDs.
